Guest rafal Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Hi I want to connect Odyssey 3 to Power832 /with 2 expanders/. Odyssey requires: +VE supply -VE bell -VE tamper 0V -VE stobe PC5015 has only Bell Output. Could you advise on wiring plese. Have I chosen the wrong bell box? Thanks in advance. Rafal
Guest Hyrava Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Never wired Odyssey 3 to Power832, but maybe this works: +VE Supply -> AUX+ 0V -> AUX- -VE Bell -> Bell- -VE Strobe -> Bell- -VE Tamper -> Expander TAM or -VE Tamper -> any available Zone with resistor in series.

Rafal 34749[/snapback] I think you may have a non-UK version of the Power 832. It is not ideal, but you may have to connect +VE and -VE to Aux + and -, and use the programmable outputs to connect to Bell- and Strobe -. You could then use tamper return to switch a relay on a 24hr zone to set up SAB tamper. Just be aware that you will be putting a high load on the AUX circuit - check the load in alarm to ensure that you will not blow the Aux fuse. If you are at all unsure on how to do this, then contact a local installer. D7
Deltaseven Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Oh and you will need a 1K resistor across Bell + and Bell - to avoid "Bell Trouble" condition.
j.paul Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 You need a relay to get the tamper to work on the Power Panels if Using Odyssey 3 sounder Strobe goes on PG2 programmed as [10] System Event... I think you may have a non-UK version of the Power 832. Non of the DSC Power panels have a tamper return like UK Panels it use's a resistor instead There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.
Guest rafal Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Thanks for all suggestions I will have a go tomorrow. Rafal
