Guest carlbeardsmore Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I have got a G3 panel that is showing a tamper fault even though I have wire linked the tamper from the zones input, remote keypad tamper input, and the sounder tamper input. (and pushing the control panel tamper switch) Because of the tamper I cannot use the reset twice at power up to clear the NVM. ( The Remote key pad seems locked out.) I have also tried a spare keypad. Could anybody let me know how to clear the NVM without using the keypad? Carl
Brian c Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I'd be more concerned with the fact you can't clear the tamper. I assume when you say "I have wire linked the tamper from the zones input", you mean you have linked out the two tamper terminals and not connected the tamper terminals to zone terminals. Have you linked out the PA terminals? If you have done all of the above, it sounds like dry joints on the pcb. Post your location or check the yellow pages and a professional will be able to help you If you don't know......ask.
Guest IM_Alarms Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Check the fuse that powers the RKP.
Guest carlbeardsmore Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 Yes, the "I have wire linked the tamper from the zones input" should have read I have wire linked the tamper for the zones input. Sorry that was a typo. Yes, the tampers are all linked, plus the PA. I have aslo check all the fuses whcih are ok. The remote keypad lights up, shows tamper even though the tampers are all linked(with the panels spring pushed down at the same time). I have checked all the joints on the board . There is continuty from the pcb screw terminals right back to the uPC on the board. I have had this before after a power cut while the battery was dead on my old optima 2 plus panel. I had to do a NVM clear to clear the tamper on that. I thought that I could try and do the same on my new G3. Carl

Guest Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 If you click the edit button under your post you can remove them yourself. The areas that you can see now are viewable by anyone, but you have to registered to post. Also, there is no installer verification process unless you apply to become a trade member, in which case your identity is checked and you can then post technical information in the registered installers area, (which isn't viewable by Joe Public as this is).
