Doktor Jon Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 georgahti, I wouldn't really disagree with you, but if I play 'devils advocate' for the moment, things can sometimes happen for a reason. For example, if a large retailing group wanted to install cameras to watch an individual shops internal fire door, they may perhaps only need to see whether it is open or closed (staff slipping outside for a quick cigarette perhaps?). Now what if that retailer had 500 branches and the cost difference for a quality branded medium res. or high res. camera was perhaps
norman Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 And what a fine web site it is too. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Doktor Jon Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 georgahti, That would be a heck of a lot of Fire Exit doors to watch Very pleased you like my website, and thanks for the compliment. I'm not actually sure what you mean when you say "what comes to your website"? I've just added on a couple of new sections over the New Year, but I'm always open to suggestions for any obvious improvements, or bits that are missing. Any requests?

In case they have already other cameras fitted, you are right. I was aiming to sell all the cameras they need. I have a retail customer who has 60 branches and (God Thanks) they understand what is good stuff, service and professionality. what comes to my sayings, don't try to misunderstand me since my English isn't native..
Doktor Jon Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 georgahti, If my finnish was as good as your english, I would be a very happy CCTV advisor
Guest Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 DJ, (Doktor Jon) If you have any good ideas how to have remote surveillance of 300+ sites (controlling different kind of video matrix's and alarm inputs) from three differnert remote sites with multiple work stations at the same time I will teach Finnish to you..
Doktor Jon Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 If I could crack that one, I'd expect swedish, danish and norwegian lessons thrown in for good measure A few questions for you .... maximum and minimum number of cameras per site, are the cameras all fixed or are some remote control (domes or PTZ), is there any standardisation of equipment or are there numerous incompatible brands, and are they all using conventional CCTV or do any of the sites use IP cameras / servers? DJ.
Brian c Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 DJ, (Doktor Jon)If you have any good ideas how to have remote surveillance of 300+ sites 37079 Firstly, make all the sites capable of remote transmission and control(Adpro or LAN DVR via sites network, for example) (controlling different kind of video matrix's and alarm inputs) 37079 Then get a software designer to make you an GUI for the different remote viewing software packages of each protocol from three differnert remote sites with multiple work stations at the same time 37079 Configure network for the 300 sites and 3 remote sites....and......hey presto! Easy as that If you don't know......ask.
