Guest johnmiller Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 Does anyone know if its possible to use internal sounders when a Scantronic 9851 is in partitioned mode? The manual is a bit vague about this and I know you can't use some features like chime in partition mode (makes sense if partitions are two different customers). I can't see anything on the sounder output (e/e tones, bell follow etc), bit annoying as I'd like the entry/exit tones out a internal sounder too. The fact there's only one sounder output for up to two sounders makes me think it is meaningless in a partitioned system - what are you supposed to do for an internal sounder then? I suppose I could use the programmable outputs to drive partition sounders but I was thinking of using the outputs for partition bells (see new question). Also the sounders would have to have their own drivers rather than simple speakers if running from the programmable outputs right? What is the correct way to hook up multiple bell/strobes to the 9851. If you had 4 partitions, I don't see how the 4 programmable outputs is enough for four seperate bell/strobe outputs four bellboxes. Thanks, John
Guest Muppet Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Speakers DO NOT WORK in Partition mode. The only sound that does work is the keypad. This is because there is no way to assign the speaker to a partition so the panel just disables it! I know that sounds **** but its because it is.
