Hello everyone,

I’ve been having some trouble with my Texecom Premier Elite control panel, and I’m hoping someone here can help me out. The system was installed a couple of years ago, and it’s mostly been working fine, but recently I’ve been running into an issue where the panel inconsistently responds to arming and disarming commands. Sometimes it works without a hitch, but other times it just seems unresponsive or takes a really long time to acknowledge the commands.

Here's what I’ve tried so far:

  • Checked the keypads: I’ve tried using both the main keypad and a remote keypad, and the issue happens with both, so I don’t think it's a keypad problem.
  • Checked user codes: I reset and re-entered the user codes, thinking there might be some kind of glitch there, but it didn’t seem to help.
  • Power cycle: I’ve done a full power cycle on the system, including disconnecting the battery and mains power for a few minutes before reconnecting everything. This seemed to help temporarily, but the issue returned after a day or two.
  • Looked for tamper faults: I checked for any active tamper faults, but everything appears to be fine in that regard.

I also check this: https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/46739-texecom-elite-88-expander-errorsrails But I have not found any solution. Could anyone provide me the best answer for this? I’m not sure if it’s a communication issue or maybe something to do with the firmware? I haven’t updated the firmware since the system was installed, mostly because I’m not entirely sure how to do it correctly, and I’m worried about messing things up even more. I also haven’t noticed any pattern to when the issue occurs—sometimes it happens in the middle of the day, and other times at night.

Thanks in advance!

Firstly if you have an installer you should speak to them if you are having issues.

I would need to know more about all the components of the system really. But I'll make some assumptions unless you can expand further...

If the issue is the system works fine but is intermittently slow to arm, I would assume the system has several wireless devices on hybrid mode which it needs to poll before it will allow arming.

Sometimes this will take some time if the mesh has not polled the device recently and it's a few nodes away. This would be indicated with a please wait "slash/bar" animation on the keypad.

It's also possible something is misconfigured or not commissioned when setting up if wireless.

Do you mean when you press the keypad it takes time to acknowledge the keypress ?
