PeterJames Posted October 10 Posted October 10 Texecom is a well known brand, I dont use it so cant comment on how good or bad it is as a product. But plenty of companies do use it so it probably is alright. I think you are right not to choose the cheapest. I always recommend people get three quotes and choose the company you are most happy with not the cheapest Quote
MrHappy Posted October 10 Posted October 10 As the end user it don't matter what the product is. Its like worrying if your washing machine is being delivered in a Ford Transit, a Mercedes Sprinter or Renault Master..... If you want an app, Texecom ain't brilliant... Orisec is better, Pyronix is much more polished but its a subscription product. People here rate HKC, I was given product but no keypad so never bothered to get on board... Alarm companies need a recurring revue or they go out of business, if you don't want to pay maintenance your not really a customer proper "Monitoring" almost always works.... apps are only a feature Quote Mr Veritas God
ConfusedPlsHelp Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 Maintenance is important, and happy to service the alarm yearly to ensure it runs properly (as I do with the boiler). Monitoring depends on the size/wealth of the house, the internal valuables, safety needs, monthly income, crime rate, etc. Thanks for all the suggestions. Quote

Maybe there's a scantronics person someone knows here in that area Quote
ConfusedPlsHelp Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 Thank you, al-yeti. I appreciate your help, but I'd prefer not to include my details in a public forum. I'm going through a list of NSI companies that operate in my area to see which alarms and services they offer. I've found some options, but they are slow to reply because I'm 'small business'. It will take some patience, but knowing the products and what I need and want would help. Quote

Lol ok as if saying I am in London is really going to effect anyone On a side note , your not asking for anything DIY above , so the convo is an overkill Just get quotes in and get an alarm fitted (but stay away from risco) Quote

For work in London you don't really need to provide much more information than say "Battersea" to see if a local provider is willing to offer a price for the job. Its unlikely we have an active poster that supports the location & your preferred manufacturer but a member may be able to provide a recommendation to co. which will look after you. I'm form he North of England & do some commercial work in London, after travel & expenses I think I earn the same money as working at home.... I only do it for the turn over & the look of horror when I say please & thank you to bus drivers & good morning sir to traffic wardens..... ect Edited October 11 by MrHappy 1 Quote Mr Veritas God
