Oisín Posted Sunday at 20:29 Share Posted Sunday at 20:29 (edited) Hi all, I recently installed a HKC SW10270 system at home with the Touch keypad. The keypad illuminates when it senses a hand approaching it, as its supposed to. However I am noticing that it intermittently illuminates without anybody being near it. Maybe once per minute. Has anybody ever come across this problem before? Thank you Edited Sunday at 20:33 by Oisín

It is possible to turn off the proximity wakeup feature, and I have done this to temporarily fix the problem. But I don't think there is any sensitivity calibration possible with this. Just want to find out if there's anything else that can be done before going with a replacement.
PeterJames Posted Sunday at 21:21 Share Posted Sunday at 21:21 You can have the lights on all the time, or on proximity. I have an RKP on my landing I would have noticed if it kept illuminating. I wouldnt know if my other RKP's illuminated intermittently as the only time I go to them is when im coming or going .

Thanks. I only have one keypad, which is just inside my front door so I noticed it straight away. For now I have turned off the proximity. It's not a huge deal as the keypad still auto illuminates when an entry/exit zone is opened when set. Just a bit annoying that the proximity wakeup is unreliable. Maybe it is a fault with the keypad itself.

Yes it is a wired keypad. It is very random, not corresponding with clock changes. It could happen every 30 seconds sometimes.
james.wilson Posted Sunday at 23:15 Share Posted Sunday at 23:15 Not seen it myself but most keypad are set to always on. The close to wake is an rf keypad thing but allows you to have wired and rf kehpads seem similar. I'd say you have a faulty one 1 Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. Probably wont bother replacing it as it works perfectly otherwise.

Some of the keypads had touch sensitivity problems , these are all usually exchanged via the supplier , hkc can't tell you which ones are at fault , and over time the problem gets worse where they keypad starts pressing its own buttons as such If you bought without warranties unlikely you can exchange and will just have to hope it's just the Illumination bit
