Guest pikey Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 I have just moved house and found that it is fitted with an A1 alarm . I have no idea who makes this, hence I have no way of setting it up. It has a memrane keypad with a bank of leds to the right. 5 zones I believe. Can anyone help ?

Steve K Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 ..........Seriously...... a lot of A1 stuff is DIY kit, and the integrity is sometimes doubtful. If you know a bit about alarms you may be able to overcome any probs, but my experience of A1 is not good. Guest pikey Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Thanks for your advice, After closer inspection last night it appears that it is a wireless box !!, so I reckon even more reason to bin it. Can you recommend any control panel with a remote keypad, cost is an issue but if it can be justified I am willing to spend. Also what are the most reliable pir sensors to use internally? thanks
FASTCAR Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Hi , Texecom VR8 + reflex pirs. www.texe.com
Guest dale Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Must agree with fastcar, your hard pushed to beat the VR8 and VR8+ for value and funcationality!
Steve K Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Texecom Veritas R8 or Pyronix Sterling 10, with Intellisense IS215 PIR's would be good. The sterling 10 is more pricier than the Veritas, but the RKP has an LCD display and is not an off-white colour like the VR8. Guest Sy278 Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Agree with the Texecom Reflex PIR's but would also recommend the Ademco Accord Basic Panel complete with Remote Keypad for around £35, reliable panel and incredibly simple to program and very flexible in a domestic enviroment.
