Guest Steve Brough Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 steve@thebroughs.com I've got an Optima XM panel and the internal speaker has blown. Can anyone point me in the direction of a supply for a 5cm (2 inch on old money ) speaker that has a 32 ohm impedance. I've checked companies like RS Components, but they don't stock any 32 ohm speakers. I didn't want to use a smaller value since I'd be overdriving the audio amplier in the panel. Any suggestions greatly received (and before anyone suggests it, I'll replace the panel as the last resort ). Thanks in advance, Steve Brough
Deltaseven Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 The Optima XM will be fine with a 16ohm speaker (in my experience anyway). But if you are not happy with that, why not put in two speakers and wire them in series. But I have never had a problem using a 16ohm speaker on an Optima.
Guest Steve Brough Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Thanks for that. I'll go searching for some 16 ohm ones as well now

Guest Guest Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I did some research on their web site but they don't give the impedance values, so I visited them, and they only sell 4 & 8 ohm speakers. I've also tried Farnell, and RS Components but no luck. If you mail me at steve@thebroughs.com and I'll reply with my address and let me know how much you want for it. Thanks in advance, Steve Brough
