Guest J Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 I have recently moved into a house and have got the code for the Optima Plus 2 alarm that is installed. The problem is when the alarm is deactivated by putting in the code again the sensors are still active and make a bleeping noise in the main alarm box thing?! when moving round the house. I havn't got an instruction maual for this and i have looked on the internet for a manual without any luck! Can anyone help! Regards, J :!:
Brian c Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 It sounds like you may have a sensor programmed as chime. Press 'chime', then '0'. That should cancel the chime. If that's not the problem, let us know. If you don't know......ask.

I set the alarm by putting in the code and stood outside, the alarm kept beeping and didnt stop, i waited for at least 5 mins and it still didnt stop. Is this ok?/is the alarm set? When I went back inside, the alarm made another bleeping sound so i put the code in again to un-set the alarm and it stopped? Sorry for the bother! Thanks, J
Guest Peter James Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 Standing still by the panel (with nobody else in the protected area) try to set the alarm. Look at the panel whilst its setting and find out what lights are lit. If zone lights are lit then you have a problem with those zones. If no lights are lit then the panel needs the exit timer programmed. When was it the last time it was serviced?
Service Engineer Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 i waited for at least 5 mins and it still didnt stop. If it didn`t stop it didn`t set....Your Exit time needs reducing drasticaly. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
Brian c Posted March 15, 2005 Posted March 15, 2005 That one sounds like a faulty front door contact. The alarm is not actually setting. Give it knock to see if it fixes it temporarily. I would suggest a service visit to check it all out for you. Look in the yellow pages or post your location here. If you don't know......ask.
