Adjusting exit leaving time when setting the alarm

Can anyone tell me how to reset the entry exit timer when setting the optima 2 plus alarm system, also when I arm the system and leave, the system bleeps until it sets however when I enter after the system is armed is does not bleep to let you know the system has been activated prior to deactivatingis this normal.

Question 1) the exit timer is engineer programming only, you need to call your servicing company for that.

Question 2) If you have a contact on your entry door (and you should) then this would normally start the entry noise.

If you dont then it may be that the hall movement detector is your entry detector, in which case the entry timer will only start when this detector sees you.

Also, if you have a contact switch on the entry door it's possible that the contact is sticking & not starting the timer, although if there was a PIR in the hall as Pete suggests & it's not Prog's as your entry zone, I would have expected it to go into alarm when walking into its view.

If you have a contact switch on the door, try giving it a few gentle taps to see if this starts the timer, as it could be sticking.
