Has anyone got some advise on how to reset the nexus 8 keypad tamper r1 when the tamper tests ok?

Would check the lids on all the keypads and panel, make sure you hear the spring click as the contact closes. I know we've all looked a bit daft putting our ears next to a keypad before now, but sometimes that's all it takes.

If the keypad is mounted on an uneven surface, or one side is tighter than the other it will pull the backplate enough to stop the spring making a proper contact or the lid closing properly. You will find this with all alarm bits... pir's & rkp's mainly in my experience.

Probably telling you to suck eggs by now, but a few usefull pointers.... when fitting pir's make your you use the fixing on the same sides, don't use diaganal fixings, this pulls the backplate out and can be a real pain in the bum. Keypads (dependant on type) I try to use 1 top fixing & 2 bottom, if you go for the 4 corners it pulls it all shapes on doggey walls I've found.

Slacken the screws a bit, but not so it hangs off the wall. If it is too loose.... (you'd be amazed what a bit of the outer sheath of a bit of 6 core will sort out, stragicly placed behind the little bugger!!! ) LAST Resort mind!!!!!

Hope this waffle helps!!! Never liked the nexus, maplin do it off the shelf...... yuck!!! I've also pulled about 5 of them out because the customers hated them (takeovers).

never liked them much myself either lol, a mate of mine used to get me to fit them for him, first saw them and thought great individual tamper etc... think i fit 2 in total then told him to stop buying them, now use texecom panels for domestic

Same here. I got one a few years ago for a domestic and thought "ooh, individual tampers, must be good"! Saw a review in TSI that said they were a decent panel.

Never fitted one since!

Hi, thanks for replies, however I did test the tamper switch, even soldered a link on the switch but the r1 message still appears on the display. All programming functions work fine on this system but I am unable set the system because of the keypad tamper.

If you're definitely sure that all the tamper zones are closed and that the panel says not then the panel's faulty. They were never fantastic anyway.

The NX/GE/Caddx pads retain the tamper condition after the tamper has been fixed and need a *7 reset.
