Guest Peter James Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Dcom is better than most if you have a signal, but no good if you havent. The Bers can be affected by dect phone amplifiers and repeaters take a look at the dcom ant position compared to any of these products. Pete
Smart Electrics Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 If you feel brave you could try taking a bit of the outer sheath of the coax near the Arial base and using a 2 foot square piece of thin (approx 2mm thick) conductive metal plate and connect the brade to make a ground plane. Gives increased sig strength and quality.

morph Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 Don't shout!! The product is designed and sold as a package. It has been tested and certified as a package, if you then change the way it works or is assembled, the original certification will not apply. Thus if it fails to perform or there is a problem of any sort with the system, because you have modified the product, the insurnace company would not pay out. Secure Signalling is exactly that its not "Tesco Signalling" you don't simply buy it do what you want eith it, because the signal is poor, start chopping it up. Dualcom are very specific about their product and the positioning of the antenna.
norman Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 But the bigger ground plane would probably work. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
