Got to Ask.........Ex alarm sales person ?

Now this panel is a 9610 but the sticker on the PCB says its a 9600, i think somebody has change the keypad to a newer one.

What type of alarms did you sell ?

Its only six wire cant be hard ? so if it EOL and only using 4 wires then its dead easy.

I suppose a optima and a galaxy are the same banghead

The very expensive Sage accountancy programs we use must be wrong on the VAT of £45.00

Well good luck on the programming of your 9600

You are correct about the Galaxy, that is a bit more involved than the average house. Hats off to those people who have installed the ones I have sold with over 160 detectors. As for a wind up then the flames may have been exagerated, along with the sparks, apart from that no. What started off as a simple misunderstanding on my part on the panel type since not used to working with scantronic numbers, turned into a comedy sketch with an engineer with his brains removed attempting his own alarm re programming, with an addition of two extra detectors, and expansion board! (No problems there!)

Sorry missed your other point. As much as I like the industry it is too commoditised, has been for years. Selling added value only works so far and especially in Mcr you know that there is always a queue of people wanting to give it away to the detriment of the customer, they think they are good negotiators but they are getting the lowest denominator when it comes to protection. Moved into a more complex technology sell. Less competition, more opportunity to make a difference.

And also people want to sell it for nothing, why do people want to make no money when they sell a system? Too much feature bashing and not enough customer understanding. If you talk detectors you sell detectors, talk about benefits and that increases the profits
