Guest mmh Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Hi, I've got an Adams Rite 260 Maglock to be fitted to an inward opening alu door. Is it better to fit the lock on the inside and use Z and L brackets? or fit on the outside in the position of the door stop (door jamb I think its called)? Also I have the monitored version, I was wondering how I would connect an large LED to indicate the door is locked or open? Might there be a way to connect a bi-colour LED to indicate green for open and red for closed. If anyone has any experience with this lock or similar; advice would be welcomed. Thanks, Mo
Guest Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 You want to fit the lock in the secure area. If the people you want to keep out are on the outside then the lock wants to be fited inside. The LED's aren't a problem, a relay or 2 and it's a simple oparation. How competent at basic electronics are you?
Guest mmh Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Hi thanks for the info. Fitted inside it is then. Do you know how much I should be paying for Z and L brackets roughly? As for the electronics experience I have a basic knowledge. I've never really worked with relays apart from that on a car. Thanks, Mo
