Guest thorkild Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I recently moved into a new house and declined to buy the Yale wireless solution that was installed by the previous owners. I'm sure it would have done the job, but I was already considering getting a wired solution and didn't want to waste money on something I'd be taking down in a few months. Anyway. I had a local company (NSI accredited) do a survey and give me a quote. The guy who came round seemed very thorough and professional, but before I sign on the dotted line I just want to make sure I'm not being had! It is a 3 bedroom terrace and he quoted for 1 door contact (front door) and 4 PIR's with a live box at the front and a dummy in the back. Main panel on second floor with keypad on downstairs wall. For a noise only system fully installed he quoted around £900. For a noise + voice call system fully installed he quoted around £1100. For a noise + centrally managed system fully installed he quoted around £1200. The two last options obviously have yearly service charges in addition. Are the prices reasonable? I'm in High Wycombe if anyone wants to compete for my business. Just send me a PM.. Thorkild
Service Engineer Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Are the prices reasonable? Those prices seem a little on the steep side to be honest... I`m sure a few from here will be in touch. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)

Guest thorkild Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 thanks guys! i had a feeling this was a bit steep. i've had one recommended company to contact for a quote, but if you have any other recommended companies operating in the High Wycombe/Thames Valley area I'd be ecstatic.
j.paul Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 thanks guys! i had a feeling this was a bit steep. Unless you know what equipment is been quoted for, how can you say if its a bit steep or not It's like saying is my car is black, with 4 wheels is it worth £10,000? There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

Then people could give you a better idea if its a bit steep or not.... or don't you know what equipment has been quoted. There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.
