Guest Pommy
Hi, I am a female alarm virgin, just looking for info about getting my alarm serviced! I have moved into a new house and have never had an intruder alarm system before. The first I knew we had an alarm was shortly after wondering what the red button on the bedroom wall was (at 9.30pm on the first night in the new house......how to make yourself popular with your new neighbours (especially when you don't know what the code is)......). We haven't used the alarm yet as it doesn't seem to set properly (we have no instructions other than what's on the panel). Last night the siren went off on the console and the tamper light is now on.....yet no-one's been anywhere near the alarm for a couple of days. So I guess it's time to find a maintenance engineer. Any advice please on what I should look for (or which part of the forum I should post these sort of Qs on). The company who installed the alarm do not seem to exist anymore as I tried to call them today. Alarm is a Bentley F133 Thanks all
Smart Electrics
Hello Pommy. Post your location hear and see who is available in your area. It sounds like you require a service and possibly a panel reset if you do not have the codes. Expect to pay £45+VAT and upwards for a service call. Get a couple of quotes. But yes, I think it needs a service because at the moment I don't have the confidence to use it (given the two 'tamper' incidents at random times when the alarm has been off).
