Guest Rav Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Hi - any help would be much appreciated. I have a Optima XM6 alarm system. I recently switched the mains power off to do some other electrical work and when i switched it back on, the power light came on but would do nothing else!!! Anyone have any idea what it could be? I didn't touch any of the alarm cables when I did my electrical work. Thanks.
Guest Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 Post your location and maybe someone on here could assist you further. The panel sounds as if it needs defaulting,as said by richl, this is not an end user procedure and really an engineer should take a look. Sorry, I know its not what you want to hear Dave.

Thanks. 49867[/snapback] Sounds like you have a faulty battery in your panel and the system has lock out when you put the power back on.. A basic service and a new battery should sort it... There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

Guest Fayraz Hussain Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 This morning I woke up to find I have the same problem, the power light is on but nothing else and the bell is ringing outside but the strobe is not flashing and the keypad on the panel does not respond? I had to disconnet the bell outside to turn it off, anyone got any ideas?
FASTCAR Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Hi , Your flat battery has probably fried your charging circuit.Best bet is to get an alarm eng. round to check that the panel is still serviceable. Regards.
