Guest Pedro Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 I need a detector capable of working outdoor, in a place with very high temperatures in summer and surrounded by tress and bushes. I had first thought about PIRs, but now I am doubting. Is it possible to find such a detector?

Brian c Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 An infrared beam pair may be suitable? They can be shaded from the sun for less false alarms. If you don't know......ask.
ian.cant Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Depending on the exact circumstances then these should do the job. Redwall external PIR's
Brian c Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Do you think they would that kind of sunlight ok? (He's in Spain) If you don't know......ask.
ian.cant Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Hell yeah brian, spec sheet says -10c to 50c so that should cover the hottest days in Spain comfortably. They dont cause any problems here in the summer and we have silly weather!
Nova-Security Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Redwalls as ian said, best external detectors going and they are part of Optex so that says it all www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
Brian c Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 I know they're good, but you never had problems with them triggering in strong and or direct sunlight? I know I have. If you don't know......ask.

Brian c Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 Your confident it hasnt been wildlife or insects? 50522[/snapback] Well, not in every scenario, but definitely had constant activations from redwalls in direct sunlight. Sun goes down, activations stop. The ARC were pretty good at pinning down activations, and when they're constant with nothing captured and preset is looking towards the sun, I'm pretty confient that it can cause problems. If you don't know......ask.
