Guest aechlin Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Hello lads I know I should be out there enjoying the sun........ My TS900+, I want to activate either output 3 or 4 to go high when Cct 11 (back door) is physicaly open. I know the outputs work because I can get my led to come on with other functions. The door contacts are wired into A (cct 11) on RKP 2. I have tried the circuit mimic and circuit alarms panel outputs 111 and 211, I have even tried custom output A and B to no avail. I have tried options 10 and 23 in Configuration. Would anyone know what could be wrong? The system is working 100%, I just want this output Alistair (face and neck very burnt)
Guest Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Firstly may i ask exactly what you are trying to achieve - for example non-audible indication door has been opened, or do you want the outptut on when the system is off and a door is opened, or do you want it to indicate an open zone whilst your setting it (it should do this anyway) - can you just elaborate and I may be able to help further.
Guest Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Keypad outputs are 5-8, circuit mimics are 100 which = z1 101 which = z2 right up to 155 which = Z56. Panel outputs are 1-4 and can be programmed with the same circuit mimic Engineers menu 1 option 1 selects which output number you want, panel through to keyapd as above, then select the mimic number you require. for info:- Control Panel Outputs The control panel has four programmable outputs: [1] Set of voltage free changeover contacts rated at 1 Amp. [-2] Switched -ve output rated at 500mA. [+3] Switched +ve output rated at 500mA. [+4] Switched +ve output rated at 500mA. Node Outputs Each TS900 Node has two programmable outputs: [+A] Switched +ve output rated at 100mA. [-B ] Switched -ve output rated at 100mA. Remote Keypads & TS700.LECs Each remote keypad and TS700 LEC has one programmable output: [O/P] Switched -ve output rated at 100mA.
Guest aechlin Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Hi Dave, certainly. What I want is while the system is unset, when the door is open, the output will drive a suitable relay which will interupt my central heating circulation pump. In other words, when we are outside in the sun and the backdoor gets left open, the living room thermostat might request (and has done!!!!) the heating to come on. Thus heating the house and the rest of the world up. I know I can interupt the circulation pump - because thats seperate from the way my boiler works. What am I missing in the setup - any ideas? Alistair
Guest aechlin Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Unfortunately I know all of that - thank you anyway. Its a software/programming glitch, like I said before, the outputs 3 and 4 do work, except the blooming way I want them too... Alistair
Guest Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Are you using an RKP output or a panel output - as you can see by my posts some of the outputs are -ve switched, so in this case you would need a positive feed for the other side of the relay and visa-versa depending on the polarity of the o/p. Also its very important when using an external relay - to put a reverse bias diode across the relay connections to prevent back-emf to the panel output which could blow the panel! I dont want to patronise but are you sure you want to attempt this yourself? I dont know you so you may be an electronics engineer or something??? Dave.
Guest aechlin Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I am an electrical engineer at Land Rover working on all kinds of electronic systems. Yes I will have a flywheel diode parallel with the relay coil for back emf, only of course if I can get this output working!!!!!!!! I can smell barbaques too............. Alistair

You could of course fit a second contact to the back door with an external 12v feed to the relay and have the seperate contact switch the relays power on/off - just a thought mate, then you dont have to touch the alarm. I only do the mevnier 690m, 690IDm and 2500 panels now (and the new range soon) I have the manual for your system, but Im not sure if circuit mimics on that panel only work whilst the system is set?? and the zone is in that set group - this im not sure on mate sorry.
Guest aechlin Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Hmmmm good point about the output only going high when system is set, Im going to try this in a sec. I only thought about using the alarm because the endstation is mounted on the oposite side of where the pump is, making it very easy to wire between. I will try that inspiring thought of yours... Alistair
