Guest cujoman Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I have thought that locked DSC panels can not be resetted (unless you try to find the code). Only MAXSYS products can be "resetted" even if locked since they have PROM on the socket. (as far as i know). 54175 I understand that I have to be verified by the admin of this site before I can discuss engineering issues, specifically about unlocking dealer defaults in the DSC panels, but I ask how may I obtain this status to which I can receive this information from the hidden forums. -Ryan (SecurTek)
Guest dale Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Hi Ryan, You will first need at least 20 posts where it can be seen that you are participating in the forum. Then you will need to apply to join giving the moderating team details of your company so it can be verified. Once your credentials have been verified you will be allowed access to the "Trade" section. Regards Dale

MAXSYS or POWER series? (ie. 4010/4020 or 5010/5015/5020?
Guest Dr. Phred Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 Hi All, I work for SecurTek, which is a major security distributor in Canada, we have been doing many, many //.National Installer.// takeovers, yet all of their panels are locked out, with some unknown code. We now have to pay a guy twenty bucks per panel to unlock the dealer/install code so we can use the panel as our own. It is very possible to do this, (we know they are locked out when the DTMF circuit makes eighteen clicks when we power up the locked panel. Does anyone have any idea to where I can find info on this issue, or maybe one of you guys will know how to do it yourself. 53743 Hi cujoman. I'm real glad that nobody was willing to assist you in your quest to default DSC panels. I am the technical manager for SecurTek. Although you were right that we are a major distributor in Canada, we do not take over other companies accounts. You do not work for SecurTek and shouldn't mis-represent yourself as such. As for defaulting DSC panels, if you did work for me you'd know better that to ask that question.

We DO NOT give out trade information on this forum that could potentialy undermine the integrity of a system and we have several rules in place to prevent this type of thing from occuring as you can see from the replies above. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.

Yes we DO perform //.National Installer.// takeovers, but we have to install new panels and remove the old //.National Installer.// locked panels. So for someone to say I do not work for SecurTek is an outright lie! It would seem that you are an office man, who has no experience as a technician, oryou would already know that we will go to a site, and TAKEOVER the system. Putting ours in place of theirs, using same wiring, and if possible the old PIR devices as well. Again, let's not make arrogant assumptions about someone you have never met! Yours truly, A TECHNICIAN!!!

If you truly work for SecurTek then you know who I am by name as I oversee all of our accounts. Call me Monday morning (1-877-777-7590) and ask to speak with the Technical Manager, if I'm in a meeting leave me a message and I'll get back to you. I invite anyone to call and I'll gladly speak with them. We, SecurTek, have taken over monitoring from other companies if a customer is out of their contract and requests it and of course it requires a site visit, but your statement doesn't make any sence, why would we TAKEOVER a system if we're "putting ours in place of theirs, using same wiring, and possible the old PIR devices". It is true that I haven't met all of the techs that install for SecurTek, but I have spoken with almost all of them and all of their bosses, each of them know who I am and also know that I have final say over how systems are installed. As I said, call me, I'll be waiting and if you truly are employeed by us, I'll gladly issue an apoligy.

I feel that I owe you an apology as well, as I made assumptions (exactly what I declared you to be doing in the first message you posted in this thread) about your previous experience as a technician. I would most definately benefit from your advice on Allegro installs, as I am still a beginner in the Security trade. I have recently graduated from SIAST studying the Electronics Technician and CCNA courses over the past year and a half. I look forward to gaining experience with SaskTel since that is where I would like to work my way through SaskTel from SecurTek (Authorized Dealer) That aside, I do not feel comfortable discussing this any further other than via e-mail. You can reach me at drcujogreenthumb420@hotmail.com I do not feel it is very wise to give out my personal information to you. If you could send me your email address and I will reply from a private email account. -cujoman
