antinode Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 My first ever install, and I will be ripping it out tommorow as we're moving. I'll do a few things differently next time though. I did'nt leave enough slack in the cables, so even though there's a decent amount there, there's not as much as I'd like. There are also a couple of unmarked cables, which should be fun identifying. Also, I kept adding bits to it, so it does look a bit messy. The PSU needs a grommet on the mains input, but apart from that, I'm a bit proud of it! Apologies for the mess on the floor too Trade Member
bellman Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 Not too bad that fella, try to get some belden for the reinstall though. It'll save u grief in the long run as the Galaxy is fussy over shielding and earthing. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
norman Posted June 1, 2005 Posted June 1, 2005 yeah, and tidy up yer mess ya scruffy git. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 I'm sure I speak for most people here when I say it's a damn sight better than a lot of job's I've seen in the past.
Guest Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 AMEN to that, you just have to look at the rogue thread
Brian c Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 yeah, and tidy up yer mess ya scruffy git. 55565[/snapback] And you've left the lid off If you don't know......ask.
breff Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 And you could have put the 12v cable from the psu in trunking instead of just clipping it to the brickwork The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
breff Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Good to see a monitored PSU though. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Service Engineer Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 The GALLERY is now fully functional again.. Dont suppose you guys wanna add yer piccies into the Rogues Gallery section..? ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
antinode Posted June 2, 2005 Author Posted June 2, 2005 Thanks. Did'nt bother with trunking, as it's all gone now anyway. The PSU was only installed two weeks ago, so I thought it'd be alright for a couple of weeks. I connected the Trouble relay on the PSU across a zone, which triggers an output (LED) which I put in a surface patress/blanking plate on the landing, so I can see if it comes on. Trade Member
