Hi,

I have a Galaxy 16+ and whenever I try to set it the panel says "Power Failure Setting Aborted".

Now I know the backup battery is duff, but surely it should still set from mains power.

BTW, software version is v2.11 and there is a RIO and Mk3 keypad attached.

Anyone got a clue why....

Thanks,

Ian.

The panel is programmed to prevent setting on a power failure.

Replacing the battery should solve the problem.

If you don't know......ask.

Thanks I'll give it a go,

Is there any way to change this setting, I don't seem to be able to find it anywhere in any of the Engineer menus.

If you are aware the battery is duff get it replaced and checked by a competent engineer, it may have caused other problems. The reason it is fail to set is so that if you have a power cut when set it doesnt cause problems. You have a good quality piece of kit there, get it serviced.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Thanks everyone. I will replace the battery. I have an almost new battery donated from a friend (I was gonna use it in my UPS) but it is 18Ah.

Will the panel cope with a battery this big (it fits in the panel nicely? Or could this damage the charging circuit?

What's the biggest battery the panel will take if this is too big and out of interest what kind of time on battery will I have.

cheers,

Ian.

Thanks,

I think I will go an buy a 7Ah. What kind of time am I looking at on this battery with the following setup.

1 RIO

1 Mk3 LCD Keypad

8 PIR's

1 Glass-Break Sensor

2 Door contacts

1 internal speaker

2 SAB bellboxes.

Thanks,

Ian.
