Guest Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Yeuch! - Lucky there wasnt anything of value underneath!
bellman Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 actually there was, they are in a school IT suite and I now have nice oily marks all over 3 pcs and the floor / filing cabinet Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
bellman Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Dunno Dave, I wiped up the mess off the pc's and filing cabinet / files but there is not much i can do about the carpet The one that failed to fire I currently have here in bits whilst I sort it out. The pcb has several dry joints on it as it is poorly soldered so with a bit of luck I can repair it and pop it back in. Who's got an install manual for a series 4000 to hand? as I am unable to locate one. Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Zak Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Don't Smokecloak has some kind of worldwide insurance if a system fails to perform correctly if fitted and maintained properly? Maybe you should have a word with them, especially to see if they can give some advice as to how to get rid of the glycol stain. Was the glycol replaced every year - could it have been contaminated in some way? Maybe the heating element was not hot enough or something? Obviously I have no idea..........just passing time writing comments... . I was going to say that I deduced the problem from the picture you posted: it is the little yellow sticker on the Smokecloak that caused the problem! Only kidding . So do you work for //.National Installer.//? bellman Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Manual sorted, just gonna go have a play to see what the score is. The fluid is changed regularly to keep it all lovely nice. As for who I work for, Take a guess Regards Bellman Service Engineer and all round nice bloke ) The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.
Guest Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 The fluid has to be heated properly doesnt it? - if it isnt, instead of producing nice smoke particles it spits **** all over everything.
bellman Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 LOL @ Colin. I've fixed it now anyway, 5 bad joints and a iffy IDC connector, soldered up and functioning properly, still drips fluid after firing though.
