Guest SirCheekyChops Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Interesting to read the problems the other guest was having in the previous post... Yesterday I received some useful advice regarding replacing the keypad and panel as a solution to the problem I was having. However.. My keypad also seems to be locked out following activation. I've tried resetting it but have thus far failed. The fact that the previous owners of the house had no instructions for the system hasn't helped. I had previously resigned myself to replacing the components as the lack of instructions plus the age of the system seemed to be making life difficult for an engineer that took a look. I'm now wondering if it is infact possible to trace the fault and remain with the existing equipment?
Chris Teague Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Are you able to give us any info on the panel manufactorer? Names, model etc. Anything written on the Keypad? May help in us being able to tell you if it's worth bothering trying to save it. If the Keypads locked out, it may have once been monitored & still require an Engineer to reset / unlock it. You may have locked it out too by using too many keys. Guest SirCheekyChops Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Keypad gives no clues. Panel has 'Securitech Active 5X' on it.....
