Guest Chrisp102 Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 Please Help, After power cut Keypads are lit but the keys are not functioning and the day and power leds are dead, tested mains and ok, tested supply from transformer, tested fuses and also tested all tamper switches, all ok, also have a auto-dialer linked into system which appears to be ok, removed same from circuit but no better. When i switch the mains off, keypads lights die don't remember this happening before? battery charge seems ok at 12.7v, any help will be greatly appreciated. Tried to give as much info as possible, is it just a case of a factory reset? or is the panel u/s.
Guest Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 The panel sounds as if it needs a soft restart, or a full power off restart. The battery may be faulty causing a problem when the mains fails. I think you would be better getting someone in to do this for you, where abouts are you, someone may be able to help of here. Dave.
Guest Chrisp102 Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 , I Live in Northern Ireland,Can you even give me instructions, i am a qualified spark, not sure if you class that as a good thing or bad.ha ha
Service Engineer Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 1st, Get yourself a new 12v 7Ah (or 3Ah) battery. Then downpower the system,(bells may ring) remove the panel lid and remove the control panel battery, (bells should ring). Fit the new battery and the keypad should come to life, so go and enter your code to shut up the bells, then close the control panel lid and re-supply mains to the panel. Go to the keypad, press RESET, and all should be fine. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)

Chris Teague Posted July 16, 2005 Posted July 16, 2005 Hi GuysJust replaced battery and worked a treat, only one thing i dont understand and that is the old battery is still giving out 13.3v? but any way replaced battery and alarms ringing everywhere, autodialer rang me all's good. again Chris 60990[/snapback] Mate, you need a proper battery test meter (ACT etc) to check how it performs under load. It will often still show 13 V etc but may well be cooked & will cause the panel charging circuits etc to cook too & then it's game over, new panel. You'll often find someone flogging such knackered batteries at a car boot sale to an unsuspecting punter. Out comes the multimeter & look sir, 13 volts, good battery, ta very much, that's an easy fiver. The Accenta's an ok audible only system. I know clients who like them for the LED display rather than an LCD display & we still have a few maintained systems out there working fine, but they are prone to to the power related problems you were having if not looked after. Guest Guest_Steve_* Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Was combing the net to try and find answer to the same problem. I have an old (10 years) Concept system, Am doing a loft conversion and thought I had possible wiring damage. I had switched power off whist installing the loft power. Later found keypad frozen. About to call engineer out when I found you. Thanks to you guys I'm now sorted for £17. Many thanks steve (Wigan)
Adi Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 What was the £17 for, a battery? I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
