_Spud_ Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Hey all, I am looking for a good quality alarm system for work, the system will need to have 3 or possibly 4 pir sensors, we also have a big main door that will need a sensor, 2 windows that will need sensors and double doors that will need sensors. I would imagine that for the windows shock sensors would be best, but I would consider anything decent. The system will need to have 2 keypads if possible. Thanks all.
Mister_Dave Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 I think the best idea is to get the yellow pages out. Get quotes from NSI or SSAIB approved companies if its a commercial property. Dave Oxendale York based security systems engineer.
Smoke Screen Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Once you've done that, consider: Smoke Screen As an additional measure. Sales hat firmly on. ian.cant Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Better still post your location and no doubt one of the guys here may well be local to you.
_Spud_ Posted July 27, 2005 Author Posted July 27, 2005 thanks all for the reply. Using an external company is not an option I am afraid due to the nature of our business, the system will have to be installed in house. I have a budget of about £250 if that helps. Thanks
Guest Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Im confused - its for work but you want it fitting to your house? So you work from home?
Smoke Screen Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Lol, I think he means their own maintenance guys will install it. Guest Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Im confused 62586[/snapback] Looks like it. Spud, I have no idea what your nature of business is but there are security systems in allsorts of confidential and high security locations. Not sure why you can't use an external company. If it was for domestic then DIY fitting may be OK but I would definitely not recommend a DIY system fr a commercial premises.
gla.ssfp Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Not much in the budget for a commercial You may consider a residential panel like a veritas but I would go for something like a Galaxy myself.
Service Engineer Posted July 27, 2005 Posted July 27, 2005 Using an external company is not an option I am afraid due to the nature of our business, the system will have to be installed in house. Regardless of the nature of your business, £250 wont buy you anything descent for the ammount of devices you specify. Also getting it fitted in-house will not satisfy ANY insurance companies requirements. I can't imagine you value your business much with such a feeble security allowance. Some pay more than that on a descent Car Alarm. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
