Guest stevep Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Hi I have a Veritas control panel, I think R8, (fitted around 1999) which has suddenly developed a tamper fault. I have not been decorating or changing anything and the system seemed to develop this when we popped out yesterday afternoon. Have tried all the usual, reset and have also turned mains power off. I have found that I can still set the alarm only if I omit Zone 9 - which is odd as I don't think there is a zone 9! Can anyone help on this. I wasn't sure whether it was the automatic service reminder?
Mavrick_001 Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Ummm if there's no zone 9 it sounds like a faulty panel to me.... CCTV Intruder Access Control Tony Hughes, Proprietor, TRADE MEMBER
Guest stevep Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Am I right that these systems have an automatic service reminder. Would this set the tamper light when due?
dpaengineer Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Sounds like the typical spring problem to me. Trade Member
dpaengineer Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Am I right that these systems have an automatic service reminder...63061[/snapback] It has to be set by the installer, and to be honest, not many do set them up. Trade Member
Deltaseven Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Zone 9 is effectively the global tamper. Could be a cable fault, bell fault, panel fault or a tampered item on the system. Make sure all the covers on the PIRs, speakers, keypads, panel are on tightly before you try to make any other diagnosis.
Guest stevep Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Tried this - still showing red tamper light. I think I might have to call out an engineer. AXL Security are the people who installed so might as well call them. Thanks
Mister_Dave Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 Steve i take it your in north yorkshire. They used to fit the ade sonade wich caused intermittant tamper faults so most of there boxes have to be changed. Dave Oxendale York based security systems engineer.
