Guest Putbinoot Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Hi Hope someone can help, next door neibour has cut the tamper wire on his back door contact. I am going to cut out the the damaged section and replace it for him, but his keypad is asking for engineer code, as he has just moved in and there is no record of who installed the system i am hoping that the engineer code has been left at the default, so could someone tell me the default code for a Gardtec system, i will have a look at the panel tomorrow if you need the exact model. Or is it easy enough to do some sort of factory reset inside the panel. thanks ex spark
Mavrick_001 Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Hi mate... sorry to be the one to tell you this but page 1 of the site pretty well covers the engineer code section.... if it's asking for the engineer code it'll be on engineer reset.... strange if it's a tamper fault as the managers code normally resets this (factor is any code for tamper reset), I'd try replacing the cable and connecting all up, try using his code to reset it. Failing that some pillock of an engineer has put it on engineer reset like a muppet and you'll need this code to reset the thing. Unless you've got the engineer manual to default the system and try the default code then your a bit stuffed... also there is an option to lock the engineer code in on these panels and if that's the cse your proper stuffed and looking at a new panel. If you can find the model of it we might be of some use but unfortunatly we can't tell you how to default it due to past problems on here and we can't give the default codes out... your best bet is trying the above and hoping for the best. If defaulted you'll need the engineer manual to reprogram the system and these aren't really made avalible not even by gardtec unless you deal with them on a day to day basis (account holders) so let us know how you get on.... if we can help in a round about kind of way we will... good luck... hope that's of some help. Zak Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 hhmmn - if it is really asking for an engineer code, me thinks it must have been monitored or maintained at some point by a proper company. It is more likely that the keypad was asking for engineer reset before the wire was cut due to a previous activation.....as Mav says, it is extremely rare for a tamper reset to be on engineer code only. You sure there is no name on the bell box? Guest Putbinoot Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Thanks for info guys, i have not had time today to check it out, will strip out cable tomorrow and open it up to see exactly what cores have been cut, i am hoping that once i have replaced the cut core i will be able to clear the tamper with his code.
Mavrick_001 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 It should do..... failing that let us know and if you have the name of installing company it might help a litlle bit.... CCTV Intruder Access Control Tony Hughes, Proprietor, TRADE MEMBER
