Guest rolf Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Yeah these were exactly my concerns, that a burglar might work out the timings, and his uncertainty about someone being in would be removed - he would definitely know that the place was unoccupied.
Nova-Security Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 but still have good quality doors windows and alarm. 64406[/snapback] I would invest your money in good locks before timers, insurance companys like 5 lever locks on all external doors and they would not bother if you said you had a light on a timer. Its them you have to keep on the right side, just in case you ever need to make a claim. www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
Guest IM_Alarms Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Try the Micromark Unit that switches on/off at RANDOM throughtout the night and they are cheap. An example of what and where to get one Scroll down to the third item down...... The part No is MM9420 HAd some for years and use them at home when I go away.
Guest rolf Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 Thanks for the link. So, the light is on all night. Does that look a little strange?
Guest IM_Alarms Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 No the light comes on at RANDOM intervals throughout the night and off in the daylight. For example it might be on for an hour and then off for ten minutes then on again for half-hour then off for an hour etc. Good idea to have a few of these going at once. looks like people moving from room to room etc
Guest rolf Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 thanks. Yes, it looks like regular timers are no good but random or variable timers are. Such as this socket timer hooked up to a non-ceiling light attachment or a lamp. http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/s...&clickfrom=name
