A simple question connector labeled bell on control panel does this provide the volatage? or does it just provide the trigger because old bell box only had a speaker no circuit

The old bell would have been wired across the terminals marked B and D. D provides the 12 volt positive supply (this is constant), and B is the negative trigger that is switched to 0v when hte alarm is triggered.

OK so do you think I have fried the panel or do you think it is repairable?

Probably not, but you sound like your struggling.

If you don't manage to get it going tomorrow perhaps it would be best to call an engineer to sort it out for you.

There are hundreds of engineers on this forum so chances are there is one local to you. Post your location and somebody may be able to help.
