Guest will Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Hi, Can anybody please help me out with my Alarm System. I have an optima2 Plus control panel which controls varoius PIR sensors & door switches. I needed to Isolate the mains for DIY work on the house. To prevent the internal siren periodicaly beeping, which is v annoying, I accessed the program mode, enetered the engineer code. This worked fine. But when I came to reintsall the mains power, the control panel did'nt reset to normal mode, despite hitting the reset button many times. It now seems not only can I not access my normal code to isolate varoius zones, but the engineers code, to supress any alarm, does'nt seem to work. In fact the control panel seems to be stuck in an internal alarm test for all the pirs conected. The door switches are not affected? when ever I pass a Pir the internal siren goes off for a couple of bleeps. What to do? Has anybody got any ideas here? Thanks.
morph Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Never used these panels, but try pressing reset 6 times then try your number or the default 1234. Some of the other guys will be able to help further later at least the above might stop the noise. Colin.
Guest will Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Thanks, but unfortunatly, this did'nt work. Anybody got any further ideas????????? .
FASTCAR Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Try 0123 , if this works then you may have reset it back to factory defaults , I will dig out the manual tonight .IIRC the beeping is to warn of mains failure , and is programmable. It also sounds like you may have turned the chimes on by mistake (not uncommon!)
FASTCAR Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Apparently , a beep every 3 seconds is RESET required , every 5 secs is Power failure.Once you have control , it can be removed. Enter Engineer programming , option 7 (sounder options) de-select 2 (mains fail beep) , reset, reset. The chime is 3 beeps , and the display will show which zone opened.
