breff Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 As does the Texcom Speech and Text dialler... Thanks, Mark 65603[/snapback] You work for Texecom Mark, not Texcom The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Guest SteveOh Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 @IM_Alarm. yes m8.... i have a bit of experience with alarms... years ago now though... updated list: Premier 24 panel keypad with "Proximity tab" Texecom dual tech detectors Digicom PCOM2400 Texecom Odyssey 3 115db triangular External Sounder xtension speaker battery cable magnetic contact for front door fuse spur + bit of twin and earth + flex. Any suggestions for suppliers fellas?? ty
Monteey Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I would personally ditch the com2400 in favour of a speech and text dialer, it will be much more useful in the long run and will do everything plus more that the com2400 will do. By using a com2400 you are only using 1/3 of its use as you wont be using the modem part or the digi part. breff Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 The nice thing about the com2400over the dialler is that it sends which zone has activated along with its associated text, if a second zone is activated it will send that as well. Ie 1st activation=dining room windows, 2nd activation =dining room pir, 3rd action brown underpants someone is definately breaking in!! The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! Guest SteveOh Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 @ Monteey... What else will a text/speech dialler do m8? Which one in particualr would your recommend... ty for the replies and help fellas
Guest roonster Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 doesnt seem to be much choice in the diallers range imo. Niche market an all... From what i know ADE informa is //.B.W.F.//. Cheep but not particulary cheerful. Texecom do speech dialler only. Or a speech and text dialler. Which are good. Menvier do similar as well in sd1 or sd2 (inc text) But a bit more on the pricey side. But top quality stuff. Im thinking of going to the texecom S&T. Comes in just above at just above ***. Please do not post prices for trade equipment in the public forums.
Monteey Posted August 26, 2005 Posted August 26, 2005 What else will a text/speech dialler do m8?Which one in particualr would your recommend Well both the Texecom Speech and Text dialer and the Menvier SD2 are excellent units, i would have either. Apart from obviously phoning you when the alarm activates, they both let you listen into the premises, with built in microphones, both have programmable outputs enabling you to control equipment remotely with the use of a relay, the SD2 also monitors tempurature and can be programmed to call you if the tempurature reaches a certain level. Overall they're both pretty much the same price, and both probably of much more use and flexibility in this situation than the com2400 Mark Hawks Ex BT Openreach Field Service Now Self employed telecom and data engineer www.mphtelecom.co.uk Also back doing sub contract work in the security industry.
