Monteey Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Somehow i dont believe its a requirement, even if it is i have no intention of changing the way i do things, anyway for your information the bt line does enter the panel through a different hole on this install, not shown in that picture as the line wasnt in place at that time Mark Hawks Ex BT Openreach Field Service Now Self employed telecom and data engineer www.mphtelecom.co.uk Also back doing sub contract work in the security industry. Guest Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I've got somewhere a ktl lab report on the babt approval for pyronix panel which states that bt wire should have its own entry & be secured with cable tie, But most important GROMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!
breff Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Right, I've just uploaded a pic of my panel at home in the 'Rogues Gallery' cos I couldnt do it here. As you'll see I like plenty of length on my panel cables for future panel changes etc. Come on then lets hear you all pull it to pieces The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Guest Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Er, I put mine in the control panels section. Don't know why you all chose the roogues gallery, subconcious lads?

Flexable mains cable used as fixed wiring maybee.Jef 69640 Come again jef? I can't see any fixed wiring?
jb-eye Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 Come again jef? I can't see any fixed wiring? 69749 Flexable cable comes through the back of the panel on a gromet (IIRC) it comes out of the back of the fused spur into the back of the panel therefore is consealed within fabric of building therefore fixed wiring. Flex would have cable restraint and be a final conection so would be exsposed and glanded or have a cable restraint .jef Customers!
