morph Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 If we are talking about the infamous alarm company "//.National Installer.//" then it dates back to last century when they started in business and they were know as the "American District Telegraph Company". But I would reckon that a lot of customers have few different meanings as to what it stands for. Colin.

Guest dale Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 I can think of many things that I think AOL should stand for, but I can't publish any of them on here. Officially it stands for America On Line. The British are stupid and think we live in the US hence they join american companies rather than the home grown companies of Demon, Virgin etc... hence AOL is big over here. If they didnt insist that they install software on your computer that terminally messes it up it would be OK, but personally ****INSTALL IT AT YOUR OWN RISK****! Dale

morph Posted October 29, 2003 Posted October 29, 2003 //.National Installer.// has 129 yrs You would have thought then, that by now, they would have learned something about Customer Service and just because they are the biggest, they can't walk all over the customers and the industry as they please. You only have to read some of the posts here or on the net to see what some of there customers think. There are good and bad engineers in every company regardless of size, and in any case I think you will find that most of us, have a poor opinion of the "the company" and not the engineers as you seem to make reference to. You are also right about it not being professional to slag of other companies and installers, but remember everyone is entitled to an opinion especially when they have expierienced it from both sides of the fence. Colin.
Service Engineer Posted October 29, 2003 Posted October 29, 2003 I`m sure Steve K`s comment was made in jest, there`s no need to make such a big deal out of it ENG, also a lot of companies who visit here have taken over many ADT systems so between us we have our general opinions and are entitled to voice them, some have been installed fine as are most ADT installs, but some appear to have been installed by morons and its these few bad installs that are tarnishing the good name of ADT. Like it or not a lot of Dealership companies were/are going around with ADT blazened all over the installers vans, and many of these installers are competant chappies doing descent installs, but some are just throwing them in at a rate of 2 a day, I`ve seen a lot of these QUICKFITS and can only say a few of them have been disgusting, Im not saying they werent installed to standards, because they were, but the standards of Installation left a lot to be desired. For every good install and happy customer you may get 1 or 2 recommendations, but for every bad install the customer will tell everyone he knows. The last thing i want to happen here is to start an ADT slagging match, so this will be the last post on the subject in this forum thread. I may even decide to Delete it. This Thread is now CLOSED. ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
