Help.. PIR's are driving me mad

Hello,

I have recently moved into a new house which has an Accenta 6 security system fitted. My problem is with the PIR's. Every time they are activated, they make a clicking sound. This is slowly driving me mad - walking from room to room followed by clicking noises :angry:

I know absolutely nothing about alarm systems ( I luckily stumbled across this forum ) & the instructions are no help. Can anyone suggest a way of disabling the sensors (especially in living / dining room & kitchen) or even powering the whole system down before I go insane & stick an axe through the thing

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Guy,

Optex PIR's have an annoying click when they activate. This is due to the relay inside operating. Most PIR's click a little. Intellisesne IS215's are quiet and are a good budget option for most domestic situations. They look nice too. (Yes sad I know!)

To be sure about the correct choice of detector, I would consult with an engineer who can look at the environment in which they will be sited.

To disable them all you need do is to disconnect the power supply in the PIR's (+ & -) and twist the two wires connected to the loop together.

BEWARE - do not short out the + & - as you will blow a fuse in the control panel and will need an engineer to silence your alarm possibly!!

When you take the lid off the PIR's expect your alarm to go off in tamper mode - just enter your code to silence it, and reset your panel when you have done the dirty deed.

Good Luck
