Guest Gordon Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Hi all, Anybody had any trouble with the picture quality ( smeared image when zoomed )when using Sys Q's cheaper wall mount domes ? We fitted a 220X autofocus into one and just can't get good pics. They modified the camera cradle which did improve the quality slightly but there's a lot of zoom going to waste. It seems that the dome lens is very refractive near the top which is what causes the problem. Gordon

Guest Gordon Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 The camera was about £*** and the PTZ dome was about £*** sometimes you get more than you pay for, sometimes you get less. Origionaly the customer was considering just using the zoom facility but the remote zoom was a bit of a problem as we would have to have fitted a complete PTZ reciever/driver board. baywatch Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Sounds like the camera & the dome are not designed to work together, especcially at 220x zoom. I assume thata lot of that zoom is digital. Better to use a complete unit from someone like Linlin, but you won't get the digital zoom with them.
SystemQ Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Hi Gordon. Your problem is a little vague. If you supply me with more details maybe I can help. Have you bought the cameras from us? If so what model is it? Auto-focus cameras need to be mounted very close to any platic/window they are looking through or the "window" will effect the auto-focus function. You can check if this is the problem by simply removing the dome cover. If it is then adjust the camera as close to the cover as possible. Other causes are domes with mucky marks on them such as finger prints. Paul. System Q Ltd.
Mavrick_001 Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Noted on the edit Brian, should we move this to trade as many joe public aren't going to be fiddling with this type of kit anyway.... not be arsy just a suggestion? CCTV Intruder Access Control Tony Hughes, Proprietor, TRADE MEMBER
Guest Peter James Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Check the volts at the camera head.
