Can anyone recommend an alarm installer that covers Camberley in Surrey please? It's very important that cables are concealed etc as the property has just been refurbished.

I've already had three quotes from NSI gold registered companies. The first was going to install a Bosch wireless systems, which I would have gone with but they never answered a couple of queries I had about the system. The second wouldn't conceal cables and when I asked about how much extra it would be they never replied. I never received the quote from the third company.

As a last resort I've thought about installing a Scantronic wireless system myself but I've read too many bad reports about wireless systems to be confident.

Thanks for your help.

have a look on the Security Resources section on the forum and see if any one listed is in your area.

if not take a look at one that is nearish and either send an E-mail or look up their website and see if they will visit your area.

its worth giving them as much info as possiable e.g. size of building , how many rooms , external doors ect and what you want the system to do and areas you want covering.

this gives them a better idea of what sort of equiptment to fit and type of control required.

regards

Out of curiosity, what were the Bosch queries that were never answered?

Thanks for your responses.

Regarding the Bosch system it was just simple queries really, like could it text/dial numbers when an alarm was triggered, could it be reset remotely etc.

Thanks. Could I ask your opinion on going down the wireless route? I'd stay away from the B&Q/Homebase brands but what about Bosch or Scantronic?

Thanks again.

Bosch and Scantronic both have respectable systems. However both need to be professionally installed, site surveys need to be done prior to the actual installation, to ensure that there are no environmental problems or other issues that would prevent a system functioning correctly.

Also not all "wireless systems" are totally wire free, some require cables for the Bell, the keypad, telephone connection and mains electric.

You could also look at the Honeywell Domonial system This requires only mains and a telephone conection unless you use a GSM unit to signal, with the external sounder being wireless.

You will no doubt read some of the post on these forums about wirless systems, but modern technology has evolved and if correctly specified, installed and maintained you should not have any issues with it
