Guest rudders1970 Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Hi, During thunderstorm last night, both my excel RKP's went off line and now show 'address 1' and 'address 2' and the three lights flash sequentially all of the time. No alarm sounded and the sensors and PIRs all appear to be online and flashing. With RKP's offline, am reluctant to open main control panel without some idea of what fault is, in case alarm sounds. Suspect blown fuse F4? Any ideas, before I p*ss the neighbours off? If SAB sounds, how can I shut it up other than removing it from wall and disconnecting battery with no RKP online? Steve
Guest Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 I haven't got the manual in front of me but I'm assuming F4 is the RKP fuse? If so, then I wouldn't expect the keypads to display anything if there is no power to them. To shut the external bell off all you have to do is either disconnect the bell trigger in the panel if it's the panel triggering the bell or apply power to the hold off pair goimg to the bell if a lack of power has triggered the siren. Whip the cover off the endstation, remove mains and battery power, wait 30 seconds then repower as per the manual. Fixes loads of minor glitches does that.
Adi Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Not meaning to sound rude lurch but should we be posting how to defeat external sounders? I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

breff Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 Youve got a problem with the data to/from the keypads, a restart may bring them back, I had the same fault the other day and it was a faulty panel. The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
Guest rudders1970 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Reset has fixed the fault. Particular thanks to Lurch for his assistance Await next thunderstorm with trepidation Steve
