baywatch Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 We did a job recently for Trinity House & we were talking about the I.R. problem with spiders. It seems they have some GPS equipment that also has spider problems & they get over it using some type of sticky tape, I assume some type of double sided. Waiting for them to get me some to test. Many years ago we used to use a very messy tape called denso tape for temporary waterproofing, I don't know how that would work? Not very pretty tho.
Smart Electrics Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 Just a thought you can get those battery operated pestaways. The ones that emit a frequency that insects including spiders don
tonsai Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 We've used vaseline or WD40 with some sucess, think we may try this next: www.spiderex.com They're a bl**dy nightmare. Once we've cleaned of all the webs etc they're usually back within a couple of days.

Guest old-hand Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Works on anything, stop being pedantic............. ( For internal attacks,as in egress to the interior of the equipment) Blimey its ISO night and cross the t`s and dot the I`s. Now i know why it was such a PITA There is a spray from most supermarkets that is for ants ect and thats good, unless its washed off all the time. But it keeps the ikkle ones from growing in the seals.
SUBS Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I tend to find a feather duster on a really long stick works quite well Please post a video of you using it..............
