Guest bustergut Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Hullo My four-year-old pulled the wire out of a panic button while we were decorating, and being an electro-dunderhead I am not sure how it should go back in. The other panic button has blue and green wires attached to the circuit, with red, yellow and black unconnected. But the detached button has no green wire - could anyone tell me how it should be re-connected. If you can't, a certain four-year-old will have his pocket money stopped for the next 15 years until he has paid for it! Thanks in anticipation
Guest Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 It could be that the green wire has snapped further back in the cable. Either that, or every detector is wired differently. To find out how it's wired you need to access the panel and find out which wire it is and follow the colours used there, which being a "electro-dunderhead", might not be wise!
Guest graale00 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Hmmm, any resistors in the original Panic button before little fingers got to it?
Guest vader Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I would have to agree with lurch and it is most likely to be wired normally closed good luck
