Guest Dunadan Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Hi - can anyone help me please? I had a Racall Super alarm system fitted 10 years ago, and of late the tamper button keeps triggering for no apparent reason - regardless of whether Home set or External set has been activated. I've checked the cabling, PIRS and magnetic catches, but they seem fine. The battery hasn't been changed since it was first installed - could this be the cause, or are there any other potential causes? Any advice would be much appreciated. Ta.
Guest Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Definitely wants a proper service as I'm assuming it hasn't had one of these for 10 years either. Without seeing the system and testing it out I can only say the tamper fault is in the panel, devices, sounders or wiring, so basically could be anywhere.
Guest Dunadan Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Hi Stuart Thanks for your advice. Given the age of the alarm, would you say it was advisable to rip out and install a new alarm, or just service the existing installation? Thanks once again
Guest Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 I would service the existing alarm first. Depending what the current fault is and what is found on the service then the system may well be fine as it is.
Guest Dunadan Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Thanks for your reply Stuart - if you were in my area, I'd book a callout from you right away! Sadly, I'm in South London, and thats a fair old step from Shrewsbury.... Do you by any chance know of a reputable alarm service engineers you can recommend in South London? once again
