Securit 800L - Is it possible to have a quiet night set?

Hi,

I've got a Securit 800L installed in my house - I was wondering if it is possible to turn off the continous 'setting' tone when you punch in 'night set' - my one year old is a light sleeper and the alarm box on the landing wakes him up.

any ideas anyone? Maybe theres another control board with this function I could get swapped in?

thanks,

Old.

Im pretty sure there's a VR pot on the pcb for part / home volume control if you have speaker connected.

And I think there's an option in programming to disable the e/e sounds in part / home.

But alas you will kneed an eng code or engineer present to reprogram, and at the same time you may as well have it serviced.

you need to programme the panel for instant setting on night set for a silent set, but this may not suit if you need to pass detectors on the way to bed that are set in night set mode.

Hello,

thanks for all the informaton - the instant set option would be fine - I can set from my bedroom control panel.

I'll start contacting local alarm fitters.

Thanks

OA.

Always best to ask those of us in the know on how to remedy such things.

I always chuckle when I recall a service on a Gardtec 350 panel many moons ago. Seemed like the customer had a similar predicament.

Unfortunately, he put his family and home at risk by opening the control panel, removing the small speaker from the back of the control panel and stuffing it into an old sock.

He was very lucky not to have caused overheating on the black heat sink as the sock covered that too.

Still, always pays to ask the advice of the fine chaps here.

There is a pot on the board but from memory this will affect all tones not just night set, best bet as mentioned would be instant part.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
