Hi guys.

Just about to take over a system that has a Galaxy 8, the company that installed went out of business a few years ago so the customer came to me.

How do I reset the panel as I don't know what the engineers code is, so I have not gone inside it yet. I have a bit of experience with the Galaxy range.

With the Texecom range you can reset the non volatile memory so you can wipe its config clear, how can I do this with the Galaxy range. The manual does not say.

Can anyone help please?

We decided a few years ago to use the Texecom Premier range for our industrial range, as I think it is better value for money than the Galaxy Range. Plus using the Texecom Wintex suite it makes programming so so easy as I keep a basic image with our companies default settings, then just upload it to the panel then put the site specific data on then bobs your uncle. It takes about 10mins to programme a standard system 15mins if you are splitting the system up into areas with different keypads for each area.

I really rate the Premier range and the Veritas Excel panels are pretty good for a medium priced full featured domestic system. (Sorry as you can tell I am really sold on Texecom products, how sad am I!!)

Thanks Andy

Hi Andy

Defaulting information cannot be discussed on the public forum for obvious reasons. I know you have applied for trade, so once vetted and if membership is granted, then you will be able to post in the trade section and there will be loads of Galaxy experts who I am sure would love to help.

Until then, no member will be able to publicly answer your question. Sorry.
