Last night I attempted to reset my Engineers code from its default, it did not seem to accept the default code and I pressed the reset button for a few seconds. This set the alarm off and woke the whole street up.

I called the installer who assures me that the code had not been changed.

The alarm has stopped ringing but the Blue external light is still flashing, as if I am being burgled.

I would be very grateful for some advice on how to stop the flashing light. I have looked at the manual without success.

Hi ,

Enter your user code and press reset.

Hi, I have tried this but the light still flashes. I have no way of knowing if the box is functioning properly as do not have a keypad with display.

When I enter the code and press reset, the box returns to day mode and the light is still flashing.

Thank you very much for your response

as do not have a keypad with display

What is displayed on the keypad , eg. tamper light ? do the keys respond / beep .

May be best to get back in touch with the installer and have him reset it.

Aren't Melcom those DIY kits from Maplin?

Who installed it?

Have you contacted the installer and let them know you, and that the strobe is still flashing?

I have seen a few of these (mainly after a storm!!), and I'm sure I've got some hand written notes some where (not to hand)

I think it's reset if you can get in to day mode? (don't quote me on that!)

You might need to reset the panel, these are renowned for playing up - again contact your installer

If all else fails I'm sure you can reset these panels by a jumper just above the keypad (inside the panel). You'll have to remove the battery and switch off the mains, put jumper on pins (or use screwdriver) the panel will beep a couple of times. Remove jumper (or screwdriver) and it should be reset.

Obviously the panel would default to factory settings. I think you can only program entry, exit and bell times any way, so shouldn't be to far from your present config. It could be worth a go if all else fails.

I think the customer code is 1234

and engineering is ****

I'll look for those notes tomorrow if that would be of help.

I know it's a diy panel, but please do not post engineering info in public forums. (It's just our general rule)
