Guest vader Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I keep getting problems with walk tests on a service due to not being able to get into rooms to test devices especially in doctors and dentists surgery as someone is either having a tooth out or something i have these promblems due to unbooked services .................................anyone else have these problems when doing pm work.
breff Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Happens quite a lot, our company assume that we can just turn up any time for commercials I always make a note of all detectors unable to test to cover my own ar5e The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
norman Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Ask for access, if refused note them down and get a signature. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest vader Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 people wish we would book them up would certainly make my job 10x easier and not repeating yourself 12 times when you walk in the door
norman Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Even when booked in advance some rooms will be in use, Just turn up unannounced I say! Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Service Engineer Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 I appluad your good practise, we all like to 100% walk test. But it isn't a requirement to do 100%, infact I'm sure NACOSS only insist on a meesly 25%..? ........................................................ Dave Partridge (Romec Service Engineer)
whistle Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 leave the speaker blasting out in reception and say i will stop it once i have tested all the zones you will soon get access to them rooms. LOL 100% walk test = your ass is clear and you can walk out knowing you have done a good job. If not note every zone untested and ask MD to sign you will soon get in the rooms.
antinode Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Hmmmm reminds me of all those fire doors that have been nailed up. Pushing and shoving the bloody thing before you realise it's got a steel plate welded across the door frame on the other side so you have to unscrew the magnet Trade Member
