Guest 2202 Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 My Optima 2 has suddenly developed a fault on zone 1...front door contact and keeps on bleeping when the door opens. The figure 1 appears on the panel but can be dismissed by a reset. However when the door is opened again the bleep is triggered again and we are back to the cycle start again. Any Ideas
Guest Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 It's not a fault, it's the 'chime' function. Press CHIME, 0. Instructions for you too. Optima_2_Plus_Customer_Programming_Guide.pdf
Service Engineer Posted October 22, 2005 Posted October 22, 2005 You have enabled the CHIME feature: TO CHIME A ZONE The Day indicator should be showing. Press the CHIME button, the Day indicator will go off. Enter the zone number(s), which you require to be chimed, or if you wish to cancel a previous selection enter 0. The system will automatically return to Day after a few seconds. When any zone chosen to be chimed is opened or closed the sounder will produce a series of tones and indicate the zone number Press RESET to remove this indication. To cancel a chime selection, press CHIME and enter 0. The system will return to Day after a few seconds. ........................................................ tinnitus Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 can you help !! i have an optima 2 plus alarm, it won't activate as its showing zone 3 and beeping non stop till i enter the code again.......... thanks Need more info. What do you mean by activate? do you mean set? if so, go check what device is on zone 3. its causing the problem. are there any other L.E.D's on that are not usually? once you establish what is on zone 3 make sure it has not been touched, moved(decorators, carpet fitters), opened(is the device on a door/window?), pressed(panic button). Had any workmen in, done any decorating, nosey grandchildren, burglars?
amateurandy Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 can you help !! i have an optima 2 plus alarm, it won't activate as its showing zone 3 and beeping non stop till i enter the code again.......... thanks Doesn't that mean a fault or alarm on Zone 3? What does your user manual say (remember there may be different types/patterns of beeps)? What type of sensor is zone 3?
