mikeald Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 hi all, i have a customer that has a gal 60 fitted, with 4 x 2 channel scantronic radio receiver units wired into rios around the building. (As they have ONE scantronic wireless pa button with integrated tilt swithch). So basically they have a loneworker around the building and his wireless pa button goes through the receiver unit, thus tripping a zone on a rio and the firing the pa channel on the stu. Works lovely. Problem is, the customer now wants an additional wireless pa button on the system for a completely different member of staff. And he wants it linked onto a DIFFERENT channel on the stu so that the arc knows exactly which member of staff is in distress. The only way I am thinking this can be done is by fitting extra 2 channel rx units alongside the existing ones and wiring into a seperate zone on the rio's, these can then be grouped and have an output assigned to the group in order to fire the stu, (as i obviously only want to send one pa signal). This all sounds very complicated now that I have written it down! I hope someone understands what I mean!? All I want to know is if anyone can think of a more efficent way this can be acheived? mike Intruder & Fire Member
norman Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 If they are 2 chanel why do you need extra rx's?, prog ch 2 for the new pab and use links for the op's. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Brian c Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 If they are 2 chanel why do you need extra rx's?, prog ch 2 for the new pab and use links for the op's. QFA Wire the new pab on channel 2, to another zone on the galaxy. link that zone to a spare o/p and connect it to a spare channel on the stu. You will need 2 seperate channels, one for each pab If you don't know......ask.
mikeald Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 cant be done, the wireless pa button needs to use BOTH relays on the rx unit, one for both the buttons being pressed, and one if the tilt switch is operated, they are both wired in series and connected to a zone. I have spoke to scantronic, and they can not be put on the same channel, they will always be transmitted as two seperate signals. Intruder & Fire Member
Paul Giles Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Add another 4612 and prog as mentioned above PG Security Systems Somerset SSAIB Certificate of Merit Installers. www.pgsecurity.co.uk
mikeald Posted October 23, 2005 Author Posted October 23, 2005 i think that is the only way Intruder & Fire Member
whistle Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 Set up a digi acount via the coms mod aswell as the redcare and enable SIA signaling all zones and all info will be recorded at ARC. Eery zone so one for each pa all tampers and time changes, code changes etc. Also enginer on site will be recorded ARC time in and time out.
mikeald Posted October 24, 2005 Author Posted October 24, 2005 that is a good idea! Intruder & Fire Member
