Guest Mike T Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Hi there, I have removed a Pyronix Paragon Plus alarm in my homeand am in the process of replacing it with a Veritas 8. I am skilled in electronics, but don't pretend to be an Alarm Engineer or know everything ! That's why i thought it best to ask for guidance from the experts first rather than after a possible mistake. The problem i have is establishing how to connect up the bell box wires in Veritas 8. The previous panel Pyronix Paragon Plus has different named connections to the new one as listed here. B- B+ Str BA BT I know that STR = Strobe, but where do the others connect to on the Veritas 8 panel PCB ? If someone could name and fill in the blanks with the EXACT Letters/Numbers etc on the Veritas 8 as below it would be a Very great help to me. B- = ? B+ = ? BA = ? BT = ? I hope it's not too much to ask of you and that i can actually complete this soon. Thanks very much for any and all assistance in advance, Mike
ian.cant Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 B- = bell 0v B+ = bell 12v+ BA = bell trigger (probably 0v and 12v+ in alarm) BT = bell tamper return (sends a 0v back to the panel) Thats how i would look at them.
Nova-Security Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 BA = bell trigger (probably 0v and 12v+ in alarm) Do you not mean 0v in alarm, or neg applied ? www.nova-security.co.uk www.nsiapproved.co.uk No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.
ian.cant Posted October 29, 2005 Posted October 29, 2005 This morning im not sure what i meant now, maybe i just meant to go to bed but couldnt lift my lardy carcass out of the chair, hence the babble
