Microphone pre-amp with Phantom power

Does anybody know of a 4 or 8 channel Microphone pre-amp with Phantom power that will give a line level output for a DVR. It needs to have 4/8 channels out as well. All the models I've sourced in the UK so far are out of stock.

Any leads would be gratefully accepted.

Thanks

Why Phatom Power ?

If you are wiring the audio ouput back to the DVR then it would be better to wire the power back at the same time, and it would reduce costs.

What make are the microphones as i have never come across a phantom powered one from CCTV.

No PMs please unless i know you or you are using this board with your proper name.

What about a balanced input pre-amp ? That would do the trick unless you are using electret mic's ? ( which are the most common nowadays ) Is the mic not near a camera, you could take power from there if needed.

Thanks for the replies on this one. I've eventually sourced a Behringer ADA8000 which seems to fit the bill! It has 8 input channels with phantom power for balanced condenser mics and 8 line level ouputs for the DVR. It is normally used as a A/D converter for Digital Audio recorders but apparently by linking the Digital output to the Digital input it can be used as a analogue preamp. See the spec below:-

Anyone fancy clearing up what Phantom power is?

Phantom power is a way of powering electret condensor Microphones remotely down the cable. Some mics have a battery built in but of course they will need changing from time to time. That could cause a problem if used for security purposes or fitted in a difficult position.

The power is derived from the preamp or power supply and is normally 12 - 48V DC.
